ErgoAnalysis

This page shows how to download the data, analyze it, and make the pdf results report for each work phase.

Downloading Data to ErgoLink

Downloading Data to ErgoLink

1.

PREPARE DEVICES READY

Start ErgoLink. Connect all MCells and a smartphone with ErgoMobile app to a PC using USB-hub. Allow the PC to access the phone's memory by confirming the message on phone's window (see picture).

2.

CREATE PROJECT AND PARTICIPANT IN ERGOLINK

On ErgoLink's page 'Project management' create a 'Project' for the data. Select the Project and create a 'Participant' with the participant's information collected in the Participant Questionnaire. Obligatory items are marked with stars (*).

3.

SELECT ALL RELEVANT PARTICIPANT DATA FROM THE MEASUREMENT SESSION

Select the Participant and head to the page 'Download Measurement'. Make sure all the devices and the phone is visible on the Download page. You must download all data from all devices at the same time in order to have synchronized video, EMG, heart rate and angle data.

Under each MCell device, select the correct starting time of the measurement to the dropdown box.

In ErgoMobile, the heart rate data is stored in DOCUMENTS and videos are stored in PICTURES under the folder MYONTEC. For the phone, to the upper box, select the measurement file ('start_time.csv') from the phone's memory. It is stored at: [Phone root]\Internal shared storage\Android\data\com.myontec.mbody_ergo\files\ErgoAnalysis\[Measurement start time]

Next, for the bottom box, select all video files, captured during the measurement. The path is:

[Phone root]\Pictures\Myontec\Ergo Analysis\[Start Time]\

When all is selected, check that all seems OK and click 'Transfer Files'.

4.

DATA IS READY

The data should now appear as a file under the selected participant. Open the file by double-clicking it. You will see the synchronized data in ErgoLink participant page.

Preparing and Analyzing the Data

Preparing and Analyzing

the Data for Reporting

1.

CHECK DATA QUALITY

After opening the data, check that all sources from heart rate, emg, angles and video are in place. The X-axis of chart represents time and duration of the measurement.

2.

SET MVC VALUES

To set the individual muscle maximum voluntary contraction EMG reference values, select 'Add MVC' using the cursor at the start- and endpoint of the desired area.
When successful, the MVC area will be highlighted with red color and values are shown.

By default MVC value is calculated using a 1-second moving average over the EMG signal. For each channel the MVC value is the maximum 1 sec average. If you wish to change the reference values, they can now be edited manually.

3.

SET ANGLE OFFSET REFERENCE  VALUES FOR ARMS AND TRUNK

Move the blue cursor to a point where the volunteer is keeping the arms and trunk steady, arms horizontally in 90 degree position. Click 'Set angles to zero' to enter offset angles to correct position (left arm 90 degrees, trunk 0 degrees, right arm 90 degrees). When successful, the area will be shown in highlighted  blue vertical area in the data.

4.

SYNCHRONIZE THE VIDEO, EMG, AND ANGLE DATA IN LONG MEASUREMENTS

In long measurements (> 2 hrs) there may be appr. 5-15 seconds discrepancy between video, EMG,  and angle data. Correct the discrepancy by comparing the video and other data with the arm and trunk angle offset calibration movement data in the end of the measurement session. The amount of seconds to be corrected can be calculated from the x-axis. Set the time (seconds) values in data settings.

5.

ANALYZE WORK PHASES

Move the cursor to a desired area start, click 'Add AOI'. Move the cursor to the area end and click the button again. The selected area is highlighted with green hue and added to the AOI list. Assign any created task name to the AOI. Create as many number of tasks as necessary. Tasks may also be overlapping each other. Remember to save the data every now and then.

Creating Project and Report

Creating Project and Report to ErgoCloud

ErgoCloud enables easy sharing and a storage for the reports for each project. (If you have Standalone version proceed to CSV export instructions)

CreateQuickReports.PNG

1.

CREATE PROJECT TO THE ERGOCLOUD

At the project management page, choose the project you want to see the results as Quick Report from. Click 'Create Project to Cloud'. The project should now be created under your ErgoCloud account. Project's name turns green.

2.

CREATE A QUICK REPORT TO ERGOCLOUD

Move to the page 'Create Quick Reports and Files to Cloud'. The reports page should list all the created tasks for the project. Select oneOn the right, select any or all measurement you wish to include to the report. Click the 'Upload Quick Report to Cloud'. You may give an additional description to the report.

If the process was successful, you are done! Next log in to the ergo.myontec.com using your browser to view the Project and in ErgoCloud

Working with ErgoCloud

Working with ErgoCloud

1.

VIEW AND SHARE THE QUICK REPORTS

Log in to ErgoCloud to view your projects. You can view and share your selected Quick Reports with clients or partners.

2.

USE THE ERGOCLOUD AS A STORAGE FOR PROJECT FILES, SHARED WITH YOUR CLIENT

You may upload your own files (e.g. ppt, pdf, videos) to ErgoCloud and share them on the ErgoCloud with your network.

Data to CSV file

The ErgoAnalysis measurement process is similar in Cloud based analysis or standalone software. In standalone process, the data is stored on your computer. CSV file is compatible with most of the statistical data software.

DATA STORAGE RECOMMENDATION TO EXTERNAL DRIVE

In case extensive amount of data has been measured (> 20 hours of videos and other data), we encourage to use external data drive to allow your computer enough working memory for fast and smooth ErgoLink analysis.

Use front page data path option to locate the data before you start data downloading:

  1. Click the wheel icon

  2. Choose the data storage path for your preferred external drive

  3. Accept the change

2.

STEPS TO CREATE CSV FILE

  1. Activate the project by pressing the project name in the Projects box. Click icon ‘Create export folder’ below the project box.

  2. Choose CSV file option and select the measurement

  3. Accept the selection.

  4. Let the ErgoLink start making CSV export. Wait.

  5. When CSV file has been completed, you will see ‘Done’ in the window.

You will then find the exported CSV file in your computer’s ErgoLink Project folder, ready to be moved to your preferred location.

In the created file, data channels from ErgoShirt and MShorts will be included by default, even if they were not used in the measurement. In the picture below the data channels can be seen in columns C-P for EMG amplitudes and S-U for angular data and will contain the value of -1 for the entirety of the measurement. Any unwanted columns can be deleted freely.
